It’s a non – ablative resurfacing laser – meaning it works beneath the surface without removing the top layer of skin. It targets water in the skin cells, creating fractionated, controlled thermal damage. As the body responds to this controlled injury, collagen is stimulated and the skin revitalises itself.
What does it treat?
It can treat superficial and epidermal concerns:
- Fine lines and surface wrinkles
- Crepey skin texture
- Sun damage and photoageing
- Dullness and uneven skin tone
- Hyperpigmentation and age spots
- Benign pigmented lesions including lentigines (age spots), solar lentigines (sun spots), and ephelides (freckles) in Fitzpatrick skin types I–IV
What does "fractional" mean?
Rather than treating the entire surface of the skin, fractional lasers deliver energy in tiny, precise columns – leaving surrounding tissue untouched. This is what keeps downtime low while still triggering a meaningful healing and collagen response.
What to expect afterwards
After treatment you may experience some redness and mild swelling, similar to a sunburn. These effects usually subside within a few days.
Mild redness and slight swelling are common but typically resolve within 24-48 hours. Some clients may also experience a sensation of tightness or slight dryness. Most clients can resume normal activities the following day.
The small grid-like crusting you’ll notice post-treatment is the FRAX’s signature – those are the microscopic treatment zones healing. They shed naturally over a few days and are easily covered with make-up.
How many sessions?
Most patients see significant improvements after 3-5 sessions, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. Full results develop over several weeks as collagen production increases, with optimal improvements typically seen after a series of treatments.
