IPL for Redness and Broken Capillaries
Nordlys IPL is an advanced Intense Pulsed Light treatment that targets redness. This treatment is used to help with Rosacea and general redness.
IPL delivered to your skin is far more precise and controlled than conventional IPL, targeting the haemoglobin within superficial blood vessels, leading to controlled thermal injury and subsequent vessel collapse, without affecting the surrounding skin.
What It Treats
Nordlys IPL is particularly well-suited to those experiencing:
• Rosacea – diffuse facial redness, flushing, and sensitivity
• Broken capillaries – fine red thread veins visible on the cheeks, nose, and chin
• Generalised redness – persistent, uneven skin tone caused by vascular
irregularities
During the Treatment - Comfort & Sensation
Almost all patients report minimal pain during treatment, it feels similar to a warm elastic band sensation, anaesthetic cream is not required. The SWT® technology delivers energy with exceptional precision, and the built-in cooling system ensures the experience remains comfortable throughout.
Downtime & What to Expect
Nordlys IPL is a genuinely low – downtime treatment. Immediately after treatment, the skin may appear slightly flushed, similar to mild redness after sun exposure. Any visible capillaries may appear more prominent initially, and swelling is usually minimal. This settles quickly, and most clients feel comfortable returning to their normal routine the same day.
Intervals & Sessions
Sessions are spaced every 2-4 weeks depending on your skin’s sensitivity and how it responds to treatment. For minor redness, a course of 3 is typically sufficient. For more persistent redness or established broken vessels, a course of 6 is recommended for full, lasting clearance.
Everything will be personalised at your consultation, where a bespoke treatment plan and full aftercare guide will be provided.
